Barely 2 months into 2006 and we've already all these misfortunes. Just thinking about it gives me the creeps...

First there was the ultra stampede which took away the lives of 70+ oh-so-poor people (forgive me for the sarcasm, I just can't help but roll my eyes on how pathetic Filipinos could get. I mean, did they really believe they could get 2000 pesos each?!? Ugh. *Disgusted*). Less than a month later, the mudslide tragedy in Leyte happened. One whole barangay was literally buried in half-a-hill mass of land. Horrible. Unimaginable. Now watching the news as Philippine marines, rallyists, media, and other civillians pile up at the Fort Santiago (which is about a kilometer away from my office) got me thinking.. what's the worst that could happen this year? Will the dog really come bite us in the a*s?

*Random: Just saw UP Dil on TV with the usual protests and stuff..Come to think of it, my whole 5 years in UP I've never been to a single rally. Not even Edsa2. Walang kwentang Iska. Tsk tsk...

+ spent feb 14-15 at the plant for the vm machinability trial. winner ito sa overtime huh. think 32 hours straight at the office. boo! good thing the trial went well. next stop: project circle. tsk tsk...

+ last movies watched: pink panther (jax, stop drooling over beyonce!) and in her shoes

+ went to the salon with jax last saturday for our haircuts. my first short hair again since graduation. i think i look kinda different. will post pics soon...

+ recent hates:
(1) compex - i swear, i'm never going back to that place again. poor POOR POOR service!!!
(2) smokers - if you want to smoke, please be considerate of other people around. you do not have the monopoly of air you know!
(3) our cable provider - isn't there supposed to be a general rule to inform your customers that you're changing the channels? duh. *irritated*

1. You let go of your paranoia when he goes out with his friends - he's worth so much more than the suspicious feeling.

2. You let him have the last piece of the food you're sharing.

3. You let him take a nap on your lap when it's late cause you don't want him to be driving with eyes half-open, even if you're so sleepy yourself.

4. You wait for him to get home just to make sure he's safe.

5. You're willing to give up your wants for his wants.

6. You're open to compromise, even major ones.

7. You know how to give him a hug when he's extra quiet and you think something is wrong.

8. ...You stay there. He doesn't need to tell you what's on his mind unless he's ready and you respect that.

9. You try to learn to cook his favorite meal.

10. You get upset when other people think less of him.

11. You buy him stuff for his "kikay kit" when you go to the grocery together.

12. You offer to drive when he's tired and groggy (even if he won't let you).

13. He's the first person on the dialled numbers list on your mobile more often than not.

14. Once in a while you pick him up from his office just so you could have dinner together.

15. You set your alarm to give him a wake up call which is way earlier than your alarm time.

16. You let all your defenses down - no more i-don't-want-him-to-know-i-love-him-that-much acts.

17. You try to be close to his family and friends.

18. He's the only person in this world who can stop you from crying.

19. and (ironically) is also the cause of activity of your tearducts...

20. He breaks your heart but you love him just the same.

1996
hid from this guy who wanted to give me flowers (how childish can i get?)

1997
"heartbroken".. gosh that was ages ago!!! and i was so young then. haha.
i remember celes making inarte upon hearing "sad to belong". wehehehe...

1998
4th year HS.. can't remember! probably went out with SCAPE.

1999
with nix at the UP fair, pretended we were sophies when 2 non-UP guys tried to "hit on us"

2000
date with nix. kuya was with ej. ems was with fids.
can't recall who was having a concert then but i remember riding the ferriswheel.
oh and the "something in common" thing with the girls.

2001
desperately looking for some guy (so wanted to kick myself for turning those tickets down!)
was this also the year edward surprised bec at the apartment and we ended up going to "that place" in philcoa? eeeeww... enlightenment from ratskees please! =)

2002
dinner with the original cast and then henna sessions at sunken

2003
went home here in makati. ems was with dale. nix was with jed. bec was with uhm, i'm pretty sure bec was with somebody... so you get my point right?

2004
at home. just that. had dinner with jax the night before.

2005
brat attack = super petty (i-know-it's-my-fault) fight with jax

2006
Project VM machinability trial --- so exciting! (sarcasm all over me)

Whew!

For-A-Second-There-Conclusion: Pati ba ang valentine's, for kids na din? Hehe.. seems like the older i'm getting,the less of a deal I think about the day of the hearts and the fewer things to look forward to.

Retracting: But then again, I think when you become more mature (funny how i thought i was "old enough" back in junior high) you outgrow all those mushiness and kilig factors. Don't get me wrong, I still want to be swept off my feet by romantic gestures, but i guess today I've come to learn that love doesn't have to be so commercialized (to the extent that you feel you are obliged to make "major productions" for your partner). Of course it's nice to have a day to rekindle the love. It doesn't have to be just for the sake of Valentine's Day though. For me, little things count -most of the time these are the ones that go unnoticed, but these are the real essence of love, in its truest, purest form.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!! (ugh. commercialized na naman!)

P.S. Already got 4 valentines greetings this morning... ano ba, parang christmas? Haha.

almay here. i'm 25 and act like it when the stars are aligned. i'm currently attached (and loving it!) to the most spoiled big boy in the world aka jax. i'm an augustinian and an iska. i'm not a party person, more of the dinner-coffee type. i miss dancing though (it's been ages!). i'm a self-confessed crybaby and drama queen. i talk a lot, often even in a language only i could understand. recently, i've turned into that boyish kid. i love cars. i like driving, sometimes alone when i want to get away and think. i have a sweet tooth. give me chocolates with almonds and blueberry cheesecake and i'm yours forever.

(someday soon) i'd like to: swim in the pacific ocean. ride a hot air balloon. be (and drive) in a real racing circuit. sing with a band. have a month-long vacation without having to think about work. see the egyptian pyramids. lie in a bed of roses, literally. climb a mountain. have my own butterfly garden. complete my bath and body collection. finish reading the Bible, cover to cover. be in the set of grey's anatomy. go on a totally unplanned road trip. learn three other languages.
